Originally founded in early 2023, SPA focused on scaling rooftop solar installations across commercial and industrial properties in Sweden. By leveraging unused roof space, the company enabled property owners to monetize surplus electricity through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
In response to changing market conditions, the company initiated a strategic shift in late 2024 toward e-mobility and energy infrastructure. Under the new RPX platform, the focus is now on delivering renewable energy to charging infrastructure for electric heavy-duty trucks (eHDT) across Europe.
The transport and logistics sector accounts for more than 25% of total EU carbon emissions, while the market for electric heavy-duty vehicles is expected to grow steadily in the coming years. As regulatory pressure increases and the total cost of ownership is expected to favor electric trucks by 2027, the transition toward electrified freight is accelerating.
RPX ensures that charging infrastructure is powered by 100% renewable energy through a combination of local microgrids, battery storage, load balancing, and energy supply agreements with leading European power providers.
As part of its expanded offering, RPX is introducing two key value propositions:
- AI-powered software platform
A fleet management solution supporting drivers, operators, and logistics providers with navigation planning, energy optimization, pricing control, and renewable energy certification. - Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)
A flexible leasing model for truck batteries developed in collaboration with leading manufacturers, designed to support cost efficiency and accelerate the transition from diesel to electric fleets.
“Adding a client-centric, software-defined vehicle and infrastructure offering strengthens our ability to scale the renewable energy transition for heavy transport in Europe,” says Pär-Olof Johannesson, Co-founder, CEO, and Chairman.
“We are part of a broader paradigm shift toward renewable logistics,” adds William Granelli, Co-founder and Vice President. “Recent developments have highlighted the urgency of transitioning to locally sourced and resilient energy systems.”
RPX is currently developing projects across the Nordics, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Poland, and is in an active growth phase.
